1338 – Joanna of Bourbon is born to the Duke and Duchess of Bourbon. She would become the Queen consort of France as the wife of Charles V of France. They would have nine children, with only two surviving into adulthood, the future Charles VI of France and Louis, Duke of Orleans.

1808 – Marie of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach is born to the Grand Duke and Duchess of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. She would become a Princess of Prussia by her marriage to Prince Charles of Prussia. Her sister married the future Wilhelm I of Germany, causing strife between the sisters, because of one’s elevated status. She was also known to hate her niece in law, Victoria, Princess Royal of Britain.

1874 – Hawaiian King Lunalilo dies at age 39 in Honolulu after just 13 months as King, making him the shortest monarch for the islands. He was working on making Hawaii more democratic by reducing the power of the monarchy. He had attempted to amend the constitution, allowing the people to elect his successor, as he did not name one, but was not able to make the changes before his early death.

2010 – Princess Regina of Saxe Meiningen dies at age 85 in Germany. She was the wife of Otto von Habsburg, the last crown Prince of Austria. They were actually forbidden by law to use their titles in Austria, but were able to do so in Germany.
